Is it Cerulean? Josep Abril Spring/Summer 2009

Turquoise? No. Blue? No. Teal and cerulean are both present in Josep Abril's Spring/Summer 2009 collection along with various shades of creme.

"This... 'stuff'? Oh... ok. I see, you think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select out, oh I don't know, that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise, it's not lapis, it's actually cerulean."

Les Hommes Summer/Spring 2009

Les Hommes Summer/Spring collection possess, I dare say, an electric feel. There has been much talk about deep blues and the first look presented here is another example of how this color will surely bring a touch of coolness to the warmer seasons.

On Repeat: Little Boots

Little Boots

I just recently stumbled across Little Boots and I can't get enough. I couldn't find any formal music videos, so I posted a live set. I'm ridiculously excited that I'll be able to see Little Boots at SXSW.

LICHTFAKTOR Brings Light to the Darkness

LICHTFAKTOR likes lights, lots of them in pretty colors. You can check more of the team's images at Behance.
The members of LICHTFAKTOR use light to give expression to their creativity. They take advantage of a variety of light sources to produce photos and videos in cities by night. The Cologne artists’ collective, consisting of VJ $ehvermögen (photographer and VJ since 1997 with many years of experience in the event field) and JIAR (communications designer and graffiti artist), experiments with the possibilities yielded by bulb (long-term) exposure and painting. Their aim is to explore all aspects of “lightwriting” and to develop it further. The LICHTFAKTOR crew intentionally uses the entire space in which a particular work is produced and integrates it into their photos and animated films in such a way that it’s not just a backdrop but a part of the work itself.

On Repeat: Adding a Media Player to T.S.A.

Berlin Street Art (Image from my personal collection)

I've decided to add a media player to The Sartorial Architect. I thought it would be a better way to bring the music that's on my iTunes library to you. If you do indeed like what you're listening to, I urge you to buy the track and/or see the artist/music maker in concert in means of supporting the artist/music maker.

Ladyhawke - Paris is Burning (Cut Copy Remix)

I hope you, my audience, welcomes this idea and furthermore enjoy the tracks I select. Let me know if this is a bad idea; I can refrain from sprinkling random music tracks onto this blog ;(

Dita Eyewear

(via Hypebeast)

I'm salivating over Dita Eyewear. Each frame comes in an assortment of color choices making it incredible hard to find a favorite. These glasses are not recession friendly (prices range from $375 to $500), but you can always splash some soy sauce on the shipping box and have that for dinner.

On Repeat: Those Darlins

Those Darlins- Wild One

The Item: Mommy vs Daddy T-shirt

Reminds me of my doodling in middle school. Mommy vs Daddy t-shirt available at I Don't Like Mondays.

Lanvin: Shoes from the Spring/Summer 2009 collection

I'm not exactly sure who started the "toe-dip" detail, but bravo. In the Spring/Summer 2009 collection of Lanvin, the label has fixed several of their shoes with such a feature. The altering of the toe, either by changing the material or color, brings a sartorial appeal that provides a contrast for a shoe that is both dramatic and not completely far reaching.

The Richelieu shoe in calf and suede, particularly in silver and white, is so well done. Even the wood choice for the sole is just really, damn nice.
